October 6th Assignment (A-day) & October 7th Assignment (B-day)
In your text, the authors state that "competition was the bogeyman of most business leaders" during the late nineteenth century. Based on what you have read (and what you have seen in the documentary), what do they mean by this? How did these business leaders respond to the "bogeyman of competition"?
For homework, write a brief but thorough response and email it to me at [email protected] by Monday 10/10 (for A-day) and Tuesday 10/11 (for B-day).

Grading
Your grade in this class will be determined by averaging the following categories:
Late Policy
Daily assignments (i.e., homework, classwork) – Half credit the next class, no credit after that.
Essays & Projects – 20 points off per day after due date.
Returned Work
All graded work should be kept until AT LEAST the end of the marking period. All returned quizzes, tests, homework and worksheets should go into your notebook. This will help you study for mid-term and final exams.
Make-ups
If you are absent please see me before or after class to find out what you missed. I will follow school policy for time allotted for make-up assignments. If there are extenuating circumstances and you need more time please talk to me. Some in-class activities and group work will be impossible to make-up; you have the option of no credit or completing an alternative assignment to be determined by me. THERE ARE NO MAKE-UPS FOR UNEXCUSED ABSENCES.
Homework
Every student in this class is expected to maintain a complete and organized notebook. Periodically I will collect homework assignments and other times I will simply spot check while walking around the room.
